How-to: Take Screenshot on an Android Phone

Last year, I wrote a post teaching How to easily take screenshots on PC, Mac, and iPhone. Now that I am an Android user,I decide to show you how to take screenshots on Android devices. It’s not as easy as taking screnshots on an iPhone, it’s not hard neither.

Step1 Install the Android SDK
You can get it from Google.  There are three versions Windows, Mac OS X(Intel), and Linux (i386). Read the install manual here.

Step2 Turn on USB Debugging

On your Android phone, go to Settings, then Applications, and then Development. Check the checkbox for “USB debugging.”

Step3 Run DDMS

I downloaded the Mac version SDK, it’s fairly simple. The DDMS file is located  under tools folder.  After I clicked on DDMS,  a terminal  window pops up and the GUI launched.
