Telus HTC Hero

Got HTC Hero from Telus for $49.99

I was waiting for the Motorola Milestone/Droid and HTC Dragon/Passion to come to Canada. But I can't wait any longer. I finally decided to go with my favorite HTC Hero from Telus. I've been using Telus for about 3years. Just when I had enough of Telus's CDMA network, they introduced New HSPA+ 3G Network. Just recently they dropped HTC Hero's price to $49.99 with a 3-year contract.

I actually bought it from Black's which is a Photography store and just start selling Telus cellphones recently. After I signed a 3-year contract with them, they gave me a free 100 photo prints card and a Sony digital Photo Frame. Pretty good deal uh?

Currently the Telus HTC Hero is stilling running old Android 1.5. Hopefully it will get updated to  Android 2.0 or 2.1 with HTC's Sense UI.

HTC Hero Features:

  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
  • 5.0 megapixel color camera with auto focus
  • Internal GPS antenna
  • 3.2-Inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive screen with 320x480 HVGA resolution
  • MMS and instant messaging capable
  • Expandable microSD memory slot (come with a 2GB card  up to 16 GB)
  • Operating System: Android

After Two days playing around with Hero, I am Loving it! So far all the apps are in the Android martket in Canada. Because paid apps are not available to Canada yet.. But Free apps are good enough for me.

So I am planning to writing some Android related articles in the future posts. Maybe Android app reviews, Android Tips & tricks, and Upcoming Android updates and devices rumors...
