HTML5 is the proposed next major revision of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). Although the HTML5 specification is an ongoing work, and not all browsers support HTML5, there are already sites using HTML5 right now.

I have handpicked 12 awesome creative websites that are coded in HTML5 and CSS3 . Come in and check out the possibilities of HTML 5.

1. Slim Kiwi

I was browsing through the ExpressionEngine Pro network, then I found Slim Kiwi. I quite like this single page website, so I decide to check its HTML codes. Guess what I found? HTML5!  Both the main site and its blog are running on ExpresionEngine with HTML5.

2. Apple

This one many of you have probably visited Apple's website. But did you know that apple.com is written in Html5? Since Apple's own browser Safari 4 supports HTML5, it make sense that they build their website to show off. Have you seen the video when your first time launch Safari4?

3. Joel Jenkins Portfolio

Joel Jenkins is a front-end web UI designer. This is his online portfolio. Nice and simple layout, and beautiful  typography.

4. Cat Cubed

Cat cubed is a very interesting blog with some nice design features. Go check it out what happens when you scroll the pages.

5. Sushimonstr

Sushimonstr is a beautiful website with awesome illustrations and nice column layouts. It has very nice textured background as well.

6. Canary Graphics

Although this site is in mainly Japaneses, you can still see the stunning visual effects. It even has a color changing background!

7. For a Beautiful Web

For a beautiful web has always been my favorite site. It uses a lot of advanced CSS3 and HTML5  in its design.  This site is a must see for any web designer IMO.

8. Daniel Dengler

Daniel Dengler is web developer from Germany. His website is very clean and fresh. I love all those white space on this web. 

9. Tim Benniks

Tim Benniks is another front-end web engineer. This is his portfolio site build with HTML5 as well.

10. Idea Foundry

Idea Foundry offers trainings and workshops for advanced web technology such as ExpressionEngine, Ruby on Rails, jQuery...

11. Zoocha

Zoocha is a creative digital agency. Their website is very colorful. too bad their portfolio page is not finished yet.

12. Isacosta

Isacosta is a web designer, geek, internet freak... And we can tell from this website. Very creative idea.
